THE STRATEGY
BEHIND THE SCROLL:
There’s a reason you stopped scrolling.
Going viral can seem like luck, but the content we stop for consist of strategies built around audience behavior.
The Strategy behind the scroll breaks down why social media and influencer marketing work, and how brands AND creators can turn attention into something of value
There’s more strategy than you think.
Your feed isn’t as random as it feels. Every day, we scroll though hundreds of videos. We may scroll past the TikTok shop ads, stop for the nostalgia, and maybe even mindlessly watch the aesthetic Sunday reset videos.
Many videos disappear in seconds, others make us stop. Some make us comment, send to the group chat, and every once and a while, something convinces us to check that cart out.
So what makes a difference?
A creator can post a thirty second video and reach millions. A brand can spend hundreds of thousands on a campaign and barely get noticed. Or, overnight, everyone suddenly has this one product. That’s what i’m here to explain.
It’s time to explore the marketing behind the content that’s filling our feeds.

What turns a scroll into action
02- Influencer Marketing
Followers don’t sell product. Influence does. Influencer marketing has changed marketing tenfold. Instead of asking audiences to trust another billboard or commercial, brands partner with creators who have spent a long time building relationships with their audience. Choosing an influencer isn’t as simple as finding the person with the biggest following. 10K Engaged followers can be more valuable than 1M passive ones.
Does their audience trust them?
Does their content align with the brand?
Does the partnership feel natural?
Will their audience actually care?
FOR BRANDS
Finding the right creator
Follower count is only half of the equation.
Building authentic partnerships
The best sponsored content isn’t always marked as “AD”
Measuring the outcome
Reach matters, but so does clicks, conversions, brand awareness, and the impression left on the audience when the campaign ends.
FOR CREATORS
Building a valuable audience
Brand’s aren’t only buying access to followers. They’re buying access to trust.
Understanding what brands see
Your audience, engagement, quality content, nice, and brand communicate more than you think.
Keep sponsored content authentic
Your follower’s don’t want to see a script, they want the real experience.
01 - Social Media Strategy
Posting is easy… Kinda.
Getting people to care is not.
Social media marketing is more than consistent posting or hopping on the newest trend. Brands need to understand who they’re speaking to, what makes the audience care, where they spend their time, and what content is actually converting.
The same message can perform completely different depending on the audience, platform, and execution. A strong social strategy connects those pieces.
BEHIND THE STRATEGY
Audience: who are you trying to reach, and why is it relevant to them?
Content: What earns attention without feeling like a direct ad?
Platform: TikTok and Instagram are different, treat them like it.
Brand: Trends move quickly and are usually overdone. Your identity shouldn’t disappear every time the trends do.
Performance: Sure, engagement is great. But did they click away, or click into?
03- What Makes Content Go Viral?
Everyone want’s to go viral.
But do you have what it takes?
Virality is unpredictable.
There isn’t a secret time to post, sound + text formula, hashtags or magic formula that guarantees millions of views.
But viral content has things in common.
THE CHECKLIST
The hook
Why did they stop and listen in the first 5 seconds?
Emotion
Did it make them relate? Laugh? Disagree?
Conversation
Are people making it about them? It’s only human nature. The comments boost the algorithm, babe.
Distribution
Did the platform receive signals that made the content worth showing to others?
The goal isn't to predict virality.
It’s to understand why it went viral.
05- Learning Through Experience
I don’t just watch the scroll… I work on both sides of it.
My perspective on influencer marketing is a call that’s coming from inside the house; working on the brand side and the creator side makes me experienced.
As the Marketing & Operations Manager at local small business, I manage social media, develop marketing campaigns, and work directly with influencers to build brand awareness. I also provide freelance social media services for small businesses and creating content for my own platforms.
That means I’ve experienced influencer marketing from both sides of the partnership. I understand what brands are looking for when choosing creators, and I also understand what it’s like to be the creator producing the content.
That’s what I bring to The Strategy Behind the Scroll:
marketing concepts, real-world experience, and a curiosity for why some content makes us stop while the rest gets scrolled past.
The Big Picture
04- Attention To Action
Getting the view is only the beginning.
A viral video might earn a million views, but views alone don't make a successful marketing strategy. For brands, the real question is what happens after someone stops scrolling.
Did they remember the brand?
Did they visit the website?
Did they share the product?
Did they actually buy?
BEYOND THE LIKE
Awareness
Did the content introduce the brand to new people?
Engagement
Did people care enough to interact?
Action
Did that attention lead to clicks, searches, sign-ups, or purchases?
Connection
Did the content build a relationship that lasts beyond one post?
Attention gets people through the door. Strategy gives them a reason to stay.
